Alien Sketches

Description

Some sketches ive produced in the last few days, featuring a group of aliens that will be featured in my upcoming speculative-evolution/worldbuilding thingamabob. Dont have much of an idea for names, or evolution as of yet, but all that is currently a work in progress.
Think of this as a sneak peak. or dont. whatever
(Sorry for crappy quality of scan, the binder of my sketchbook messes stuff up a bit)

(A) Unnamed hexapod. Has 6 spiracles above and between the joints of each limb. It has no eyes, and navigates via a keen sense of smell (spiracles cointain many olfactory cells) as well as their retractable sensory "trunk" and feeding apparatus. Generaly a slow mover.
(A.1) Feeding/sensory "trunk". Sensitive sensory cells cover its exterior, allowing it to "taste" the air, and feel along the ground. This combined with its keen olfactory senses thanks to its specialised breathing spiracles allow it to sense its surroundings, and smell in stereo. The end of the "trunk" has a soft muscular sheath which can be retracted to reveal its beak, used for grasping and shearing food (Herbivorous). The pads of its feet are also very sensative, and allow it to sense the terrain below it. (Whether the ground is moist, terrain type, etc etc)

(B) Unnamed hexapod - nicknamed "stilt walkers". Endemic to dry, arid areas.
Also slow moving, but much larger than fig.A hexapod. Also feed and sense via the retractable trunk that is endemic to this group of organisms. Large body used for storing water. Limbs dont have foot pads like (A), but it rather digs its legs into the ground as it moves. This not only allows it to sense the terrain its moving in, but anchors its body down, allowing for improved balance during high winds or during a predation attempt. Also herbivorous.

(C) Parasitic hexapod (also unnamed)
Lacks the extendable trunk that most of the other members of this group of organisms possess, and rather its beak is directly connected to the base of its body. Its sharp limbs and small size allows it to grip onto other organisms, often in hard to reach places, where it can begin to feed on the host organisms liquids. Colonies of these parasites can live on certain organisms, and some generations never leave their host. Its generaly flat "cap" or body makes it hard to remove when it has clamped down and begun feeding.
(C.1) Specialised beak. Its extreemly sharp edges and points allow it to puncture its hosts skin with ease, and barbs stop the beak from leaving the body too easily.

The rest of the sketches include some ideas for other hexapods, and an Alien 'fish'

Right now the anatomy and the specifics are still under development, and things may be changed and developed in the future as i experiment with these creatures more.
