Amazon Leaf Fish - Monocirrhus polycanthus

A fish i have been very interested as of late. These small fish (8cm) inhabit waters of the Amazon river basin, often dwelling in brackish waters. It (hence the name) resembles a dead leaf, and even has a fleshy stalk on its bottom lip which resembles the stem of a leaf. It moves through the water with its transparent fins (the end of the dorsal and anal fins, and the pectoral fins), which allows it to mimic a leaf floating through the water. They feed mainly on other fish.
